Die-Cutter Operator Trainee
F. M. Howell & Company is seeking a Die-Cutter Operator Trainee to join our team. On-the-job training is provided. Responsibilities include: setting up, operating, and maintaining die-cutting machinery in Howell’s folding carton facility. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality. Must be available to work 2nd shift.

CNC Programmer/ Machinist
We are seeking a CNC programmer/machinist to join our Plastics Division. Candidate should have practical machining experience which includes programming Master Cam or similar CAD software, fixturing and set-up. Operation of CNC 3-4 axis machines, CNC routers, monitor, maintain and evaluate performance of machines for quality, speed, feeds, and overall efficiency. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings, as well as secondary tool room equipment such as table saw, band saw, drill press, etc. Required qualifications; CNC Programming, machine shop experience, 2-year college degree or technical training.
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
First shift.

Production Line Worker (Temporary)
This is an entry-level position on a production line. The job entails workers to assemble, label, and load products on a variety of packaging lines. This is a great opportunity to work in a well-established local company that offers a modern, clean work environment and good pay. Employees will be evaluated for full-time employment.
Applicants must be dependable, work well in a team environment, have good hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity. Depending on production requirements, work on a call-in basis must be available for up to 40 hours per week.

Machine Operator Trainee
We have an excellent opportunity for a 2nd shift Machine Operator Trainee. You will be responsible for operating various machines within our Paperboard Sheeting Department including the sheeter, trimmer, and forklift. Responsibilities also include loading and unloading material. Our environment is exceptionally clean, well maintained, and safe. Mechanical aptitude required.
Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Equipment Mechanic
This is a great opportunity for an Equipment Mechanic to join our Plastics Division. On-the-job training is provided. Job responsibilities include: setting up thermoforming equipment to achieve production goals, troubleshooting, interpreting design drawings, and performing quality checks. Must follow lockout/tagout procedures. Candidate must have the ability to lift and carry 35 pounds and meet Howell qualifications. Must be willing to work 2nd shift. Training in a vocational program is a plus. Must have GED or high school diploma.

Machine Set-Up Mechanic
We are seeking a Set-up Mechanic to join our company. This position gives you the opportunity to be trained to set up and run high-speed equipment in our Folding Carton facility. Solid mechanical and trouble-shooting skills are essential. Previous experience is not necessary. On-the-job training is available for the right candidates. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Training in a technical/vocational program is preferred. Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift following training.

Project Worker
We have an opportunity for temporary “Project Work” at our Packaging Services facility, 151 E. Fifth Street, Elmira, NY. New projects require us to add a shift from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday – Friday. The right person for this job would be someone who is able to complete wrapping boxes with precision and accuracy. If you have fast hand speed when you complete tasks and you have an attention to detail, you will succeed in this role. On-the-job training is provided. Must be able to start immediately. Packer/Inspector
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a must. Would need good eye hand coordination and good hand dexterity. Would be packing and inspecting product. Maintain a clean workspace. Must have basic math skills, and the ability to read and follow simple instructions.
Physical requirements must be able to lift 35 pounds and be able to withstand standing for 8-hour shift.

Howell Packaging is searching for a Customer Service Representative to become an integral member of our team. This candidate will coordinate projects with Sales, Production Planning, and various manufacturing departments with the goal of providing exceptional customer service to Howell’s customers. Daily responsibilities include processing orders, preparing correspondences, account management, and fulfilling customer requirements to ensure customer satisfaction. The right candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of self-organization, an ability to multi-task, and the desire to contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing company. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is a must. Must have a high school diploma, and an associate degree is a plus.
